Shifting Point Club, Building Up Towards The Future

Privacy and Data Protection

How the Shifting Point Club handles the information you give us through this website.

This website has two forms: an expression of interest in membership, and a general contact form. This notice explains what each one collects, where it goes, who can see it, how long it is kept, and how to have it removed. It covers this website only.

If you submit the membership interest form

The form asks for your full name, your email address, your phone number if you choose to give one, a short statement about why you are interested in SPC, whether you are a Ghanaian citizen, and a confirmation that you are 16 or older.

Your name, email address, phone number, statement and citizenship answer are sent to the Shifting Point Club's member portal, a separate system the Club runs, where they are stored as an application for the executive team to review. Your confirmation that you are 16 or older is checked when you submit and is not stored.

This form is an expression of interest, not the Club's membership form. It does not make you a member and it does not register you for anything. If the Club takes your interest forward, the formal membership form comes later, separately.

If you submit the contact form

The form asks for your name, your email address, a subject and your message. These are sent to the Club as an email so that someone can reply to you. This website does not store them, and they are not added to the member portal.

Who can see it

  • Membership interest goes to SPC's executive team. In the portal, applications are restricted to leadership and administrator accounts.
  • Contact messages go to the Club's shared enquiries inbox.
  • We use an email delivery service to send contact messages and a hosting provider to run the website. They process the information on the Club's instructions in order to provide those services.
  • We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone else for their own purposes.

How long it is kept

If your application is not accepted, or you withdraw it, your expression of interest is deleted twelve months after the decision.

If you are accepted, your details become part of your membership record instead. The Club keeps that record for as long as you are a member, and afterwards for as long as its own rules for member records require.

Contact emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.

Asking to see it, correct it, or remove it

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@shiftingpointclub.org from the address you used on the form, and say which form you submitted and roughly when. We will confirm when it is done.

Withdrawing a membership application means we delete it, so it will not be reviewed. You can submit a new one later.

Other things worth knowing

  • We do not keep your IP address. Both forms count recent submissions from the same connection to block automated abuse. The address is used for that count only. It is not written to our records, not stored with your submission, and not passed to the portal.
  • Both forms include a hidden field that people never see. If it is filled in, the submission is treated as automated and discarded.
  • This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies.
  • The Club's member portal is a separate system with its own terms. This notice does not cover it.
